what starts M and rhymes with pflrubourne

hey guys! a very clichéd "g'day mate" all the way from down under. that's right i'm in Australia! Melbourne to be exact =] for a whole month!

so far i've played with live abalones before eating them, watch oodles and oodles of tv shows (Glee! jill they play songs from glee in malls =]), composed a whole blog post in the shower only to forget it once i stepped out (i blame the weather, it's summer! it shouldn't be this cold), reorganized my sisters closet (those that are ugly and those i want to wear), bought two albums from the Raconteurs, they're called Saboteurs here though (so it's special Ooo)

well i've not done much touristy stuff yet, but i'll be going to sydney tomorrow =]
till then love

to hosanna!

you should read this only when you get my letter

junk-september-2009

i tried really hard to get you an extra copy, but they weren't selling them anyone (ok maybe it took me a while, give or take a few weeks =p, before i actually attempt to rummage through piles and piles of magazines to get one. but it was hard work none the less)
do you know they send unsold magazines back to the publisher?
what do they do with all that magazines, make paper mache?

anyhoos here it is as promised =]
look, i'm on glossy paper and i smell like magazines! yum :)

2am

i hate it when i'm wide awake at night and there's no one not even on facebook to disturb
i definitely got to work on my biological clock

so my three month break has officially began last tuesday yay! (well this tuesday. but since it's sunday, and past twelve, doesn't it count as a new week?)
but now i have all this free time on my hands. sure it's great in the begining but after a while you find yourself getting lazy and pretty useless (i have not bathe today, and my brain is turning to mush from watching family guy)

BUT i will be going to melbourne again in about two weeks time to visit my big sis, ransack her wardrobe, gorge down massive amounts of charcoal chicken and yogurt, spend christmas at st. kilda, yada yada yada . . awesome =]
HEE HEE i'm so excited! we are gonna be joined at the hips jocelyn teh! except when you go to work because that's boring stuff
just 15 more sleeps! speaking of sleep, i am still not tired

update* i found out that some of my girlfriends have sleep cycles that are just as screwed up as mine. yay! heart you guys

corroboree/the end of sam

prom was last night!
it was on the day after my last paper. typical of SAM to put everything as close as possible.

like some fair skin emo poser said, prom was like well, prom.
plenty of cam-whoring, mixed reactions towards people's mini makeovers, "what to wear" dilemmas (sorry guys i know you would rather revise accounts than listen to me babble on for hours about the pros and cons of both dresses =] i love you guys haha)
the after party was at MOS, and that night was definitely a good night (that black eye peas song is my jam!)

hoo boy, i am officially a graduate
these 11 months were stressful with no shortage of drama, but it is definitely the best i had so far.
for that i have to thank all the AWESOME people i've met and had grew so accustom to.

btw, there's a lot more pictures on facebook but i'm too lazy to show you
just go there and see la. but if can't then too bad heehee =}

Diwali

dhini, my awesome host

deepavali was last saturday, and as tradition dictated, deidre, tze, melly, huey lin, wen and i celebrated it at dhinisya's place.

i brought my brother's Nikon (can't believed he trusts me =) to snap some pictures. however i'm such a noob at this, most of the pictures were blah. but kudos to dhini's friend, ray-something for the camera tips.

i ate so much, completely forgotten kelly's golden rule, NO RICE. i even spilled curry on my shirt, which melly thinks it looks like bird poop. but the food was gooood, the mutton . . smacks*

dhinisya has a new beau who gets my seal of approval, (he kept every single note they wrote, EVERY single note! and you know how much dhini writes, it's sweet if not a little bit cheesy) although huey lin did put him through a series of odd interviews, scratch that, interrogations.
that was some funny shite

colourful as usual

it was great seeing my high school band of misfits again, love you guys =]

THERE IS NO NEXT MONDAY!!

so shoes are definitely on my mind today

i really want more brogues, or as brian calls them, man shoes (someone needs to have a talk with that boy)

i had accounts tuition today, don't tease me! gosh i learned more today than i ever did from my stupid whack-a-mole lecturer, yes he reminds me one of those whack-a-mole games.
then the best thing happen when ying, kel, jill and i were photocopying some notes at the 3cents shop, yes we are that kiam siap, i spotted a flea market at asia cafe!

it was much better than last weeks chic pop at zouk (no offense melly), i'm a firm believer that flea markets should always have natural lighting. the stuff on sale were pretty generic, but jill and i managed to buy some button badges, though i'm not sure how i'm gonna wear them.

anyways, i don't really know the purpose of this post, but hey it's one way to revise for ESL, if that's even possible =] ttfn
steve madden made an exact replica of the gorgeous faithful bootie by mcqueen (well they did change the zipper, pff! like that'll make it ok) tsk tsk!

this is just as bad as seeing women walking around those god-awful cage heels knockoffs.
or WORSE imitation crocs! they're fugly to begin with and their only selling point is how comfortable they are, so what's the point?
ugghh, you do not want to hear me go on about it

i'm diverging, anyways the point is McQueen's shoes from spring 2010 are so effing insane, i love them!
lets see aldo or steven madden try to knock those off

p.s. for the record i have never touched let alone tried a croc. my skin will literally
melt, i'm serious :|

playing hooky now

just read jill's blog*, and i realised how much i'm gonna miss college and all ya crazies!
9 days left :(

*i don't read it too often because to open it i need to first, google hotmail, login to my mailbox, search for that specific email, and finally click on the link (but no worries now, i've 'bookmark'ed it =)

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

i wish i am at a beach with mocktails right now

not gonna post much stuff in the coming weeks (finals are sooo close, i could taste it, and it taste nasty!)

so i'll leave you with my new buddy Miike Snow =] cheers!
thats what i think about my finals =p

p.s. anyone wants to help me think of what to wear to prom?

bored at home

i'm on a term break/hari raya break, honestly i have no idea. i'm one of those people who are the last to know about say, common tests, location of the next class, etc. thankfully i've got my buddies who understand me and more importantly, text me reminders :)
anyways, i have too much free time on my hands right now

have you heard scott 'the sartorialist' schuman and garance dore of 'garance dore' (duh) are an item! aww i got the warm and fuzzies when i found out. i think they make an awfully sweet couple. and a stylish pair too.

anyhoo, the burberry show was aired live online. didn't managed to catch it though, but i did scroll through the collection and it was a lovely one as usual. but i still prefer their fall collections, somehow trench coats doesn't scream spring

and with that London fashion week is over. (well not just that la, there were fat models at mark fast, old models at skyes, lara stone finally! and lots of prints and colour :) happy 25th anniversary.

bipolar babble

it's 3am and i'm reading magazines (i-D and junk) and chilling with some new songs fresh from the internet (arctic monkeys, the raconteurs, the crash, finally got gigolo! woot)
i'm so proud of myself btw, i fixed this problem with my computer by asking google

i was reading interviews of lara stone, my favourite model at the moment, and tilda swinston, and i slept on the magazine, drooled all over it, hehe
but anyways it got me thinking of what an interview with me would be like

J: is there anyone you would like to play stylist for?
J: theres so many, but one person in specific is this guy i see around college. he's got aviators and long-ish hair, kinda reminds me of sergio pizzorno from kasabian and the good looking bassist from guns n rosses. what he's got now is alright but i think i can make it better. i'd dress him in skinnier jeans, craggy shirts, vest and messier hair. oo maybe even a headband but not one of those girly ones, i'm thinking leather yes i think thats good. now top it up with a chunky leather strap
watch and more wrist stuff, nothing shinny.

so this is what you do in college huh?
well yea pretty much, haha. Jill and i love to people watch to pass the time between classes. after a while you start to recognize some of them, like the guy i mentioned, i don't know his name and i don't intend to find out. doesn't feel right to know so much about a stranger. but i do give them nicknames like tattoo guy, blond guy, tall guy with the nice indigo hoodie

lets talk fashion, what are your thoughts on spring 2010 so far?
hmm. i've not gone through all the collections from new york, but i haven't seen any that i'm crazy about. oh but threeasfour definitely caught my eye, i love the use of circular swishy cut outs, sheer fabric and yoko ono :) i'm waiting for the whimsy from the other european cities, new york is too wearable.
one by one models snipped off her overalls, thats what the scissors are for

i really love look no.8, but her boobs were showing and i ain't gonna put it on ma blog

more shoe envy again at phillip lim, remember those from spring 09' :]
drooling over these by ralph lauren

shoes at isaac mizrahi were gorgeous too

spotted any trends?
i'm no good at that, but the new girls are definitely dominating the runways. lots of new faces, with many established ones missing eg. sigrid, georgina, lara, tanya, raquel. oh but irina lazareanu seems to be out of retirement, ai tominaga too (fingers crossed) o how i missed those cheekbones

ai at 3.1 phillip lim

well this was fun, lets do it again soon
sure. over some scones and coffee?

ok. by the way, you're crazy you know that
yes. yes i do

funny story

i never thought of myself as an absent minded person, although i've been called everything from slow to stoned.
however after today i have to agree. (maybe just a little)
you see, i nearly entered a stranger's car thinking it was my dad's. (they were the same colour alright)
if it wasn't for the locked doors who knows what woulda happened.
gosh, i remembered thinking 'why is hannah in the car and more importantly why is her skirt so ugly?' when i was knocking on the car's window.
then it hit me, oiy i wanted so bad to jump into the drain nearby!
embarrassing :|

most amazing night that almost wasn't

after weeks of bugging every single possible person for a ticket to the MTV World Stage concert and coming up short, i gave up and switched on my sour grapes mode
BUT my supergirl bestie melly managed to get me a ticket last minute from her colleague who couldn't stay for the concert and post party. THANK YOU LYDIA!!
so i got dressed in record time, got there asap. melly, karen and i had already missed four performances that i didn't really care about since i was there for Kasabian, they were the last one.
we got the gold pass which was supposed to be better but i thought it was pretty crappy because it was way at the back where you have to see everything from a screen. chilled for a while when All American Rejects were performing, where melissa taught me the chorus of 'i wanna' (i don't listen to the radio ok)
anyhoo i was thinking 'oh man! i need to get closer to Kasabian!' so, melly once again working hermojo, developed a plan to get me into the mosh pit. (oh melly and karen could get in the pit because they had a media pass, both from TIC) so the plan was to get this total stranger to borrow me her media pass. And it worked!

ok ok fast forward to Kasabian. AHHH!! i was super excited! i hustled my way to get as front as possible, i was literally two people away from Tom Meighan, well if you don't count the stage and security. they performed 8 songs (all to which i shouted the lyrics to :) vlad the impaler, shoot
the runner, underdog, fire, where did all the love go, empire, club foot and L.S.F. AWESOME! i was super high! didn't care at all that my heels were killing me and my leggings were not at all breathable, the borrowed pass smelled like cigarettes, or that i was covered in my own and everyone else's sweat.
i really had a great time and so did everyone around me, oh there was this guy with an afro, he definitely had a blast. plus there was some crowd surfers (who kicked and fell on people. idiots)
best damn 30 minutes of my life!

then we went for the post party at mos, where i bumped into brian. he couldn't get in though cause he was late, he was pretty bummed (it's too early to rub it in)
Melly did try her best, plus it wasn't that great :]

anyhoos that was some crazy awesome night, and i learned two things
a) if you want something real bad, take the risk
and b) melissa is a genie

the All American Rejects
Tom Meighan of Kasabian!
yea we thought he was gonna take his shirt off
us at the mosh pit, sweat-ay!
melissa + karen
snapped pics of our post party passes while we were chilling on our plastic rain coat
met joey g that night, funny guy

anyhoo, the blouse that i wore must have stretched through out the night thanks to the heavy embellishments, plus all the jumping didn't help. . so, that'll be all the pics ya'll ever gonna see =]
